INGREDIENTS:
Boiled rice or Ukda Tandul 1 bowl
Urad dal. 1/2 bowl
Chana dal / Bengal gram dal 1/4 th bowl.
Ginger 2inch pc, 6 to 8 green chilles, small bunch coriander, salt to taste n Oil .
Boiled rice or Ukda Tandul 1 bowl
Urad dal. 1/2 bowl
Chana dal / Bengal gram dal 1/4 th bowl.
Ginger 2inch pc, 6 to 8 green chilles, small bunch coriander, salt to taste n Oil .
METHOD :
Soak rice, urad dal and chana dal separately for 6 to 8 hrs.
Drain water grind all three to a paste and mix thoroughly.
Keep this mixture for fermentation overnight in a warm place
Just before making appe . Add salt to this mix. Add ginger chiili n coriander paste too. Mix well.
Heat the Appe/Appam patra (A special tawa with depressions )on the gas.
Add little oil in each compartment. Pour with a spoon some mixture in each. Keep covered with a lid .
Once the appe/appams are done ie. Golden brown from one side then gently turn them and cook from other side.
Keep gas flame on low .
Serve Hot with green coriander chutney. Enjoy.....
