Spicy Konkani (Savantwadi Special )Amti goes well with steamed rice
Recipe
1/2 fresh grated coconut out of which use half the quantity to extract coconut milk thrice by adding little water. Keep the first thick coconut milk separate and the 2nd nd 3rd milk together. To both the coconut milk add 1 tsp each rice flour and mix well so dat the coconut milk does not split when heated.
To the other half grated coconut add 1 small tsp coriander seeds, 1/2 onion choppd, a pinch of turmeric , 2 tsp kashmiri or byadgi chilli powder (as per choice) nd a small piece of tamarind nd grind to a smooth paste adding little water.
In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, when they splutter add a pinch of asafoetida and 3 to 4 green chillies slit lengthwise saute and add 1/2 finely choppd onion nd saute till transluscent. Then add the the second and third coconut milk , boil then add the ground paste, boil and finally add the first thick coconut milk and salt and boil. Garnish with coriander leaves. Tastes best with steamed rice.

NOTE: Adding 1 tsp rice flour to the coconut milk is imp if not it'l split when heated.
