Jeera Rice

Very Basic and Simple Jeera Rice

Ing:


2tbsp oil / ghee
2tbsp cumin seeds
(jeera)OR carawayseeds (shahijeera)
1cup long grained (basmati) rice
Khada Masala(1bayleaf,a piece of cinnamon,5 to6 cloves, 6 to 8 black pepper, 1badi elaichi, 1piece mace)
Salt
Coriander leaves to garnish


Method


Clean wash and soak rice for 20 min. Drain and keep aside. Boil water to which a tsp of oil is added . When water starts boiling add rice and cook till done. Drain the excess water and keep the rice on a flat plate. 


In a nonstick pan heat oil, add bayleaf, badi elaichi, cloves, cinnamon and black pepper and mace. Then add cumin seeds or caraway seeds. When they crackle add the cooked rice , salt and saute well. Finally garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.
