Potato Gravy (Maharashtrian Style) Batatyacha Rassa:

Quick and easy Batatya cha Rassa 

Ing

2 Potatoes washed and peeled and cut into cubes or cut into 1/2 nd then slice lengthwise and keep them in a bowl of water
2 tomatoes chopped fine
2 onions chopped lengthwise finely
2 tbsp oil
A paste of 5 to 6 cloves of garlic, a small piece of ginger, 1 green chilly nd 2 to 3 sprigs of coriander leaves
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
3 to 4 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves to garnish


Method


Heat oil in a nonstick pan, add onions , saute till golden. Add ginger garlic green chilly cor leaves paste . 


Saute well till the rawness is gone, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, add tomatoes nd saute well till oil leaves the sides, then add potatoes nd stir well. 

Add enough hot water to cover the potatoes. 

Cover nd cook on low flame till done then add salt nd garam masala nd mix well and bring it 2 a boil Sprinkle a little garam masala on top nd garnish wid coriander leaves.

Note: adding kashmiri chilli powder gives the color 2 da gravy. Always add turmeric nd chilli powder one after another to get thr perfect orange red colour.
